The San Francisco 49ers reached agreement with offensive tackle Alex Boone on a four-year contract extension in a deal that was consummated last month.
Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network reports that Boone cut a deal that will keep him with the team through 2015, a move that was announced until this evening.
Boone, an undrafted free agent from Ohio State in 2010, is a reserve but the Niners value him and clearly were motivated to make him a part of the future. Boone received a signing bonus of $1.7 million. Per La Canfora, the deal includes some escalators.
