Houston Texans coach Gary Kubiak on Friday declared star wide receiver Andre Johnson out for Sunday's game with the Cleveland Browns.
Johnson has been trying to come back from a hamstring injury that he suffered week four against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and has not played since.
Johnson tested the hamstring on Monday and it was not ready, and the wide receiver did not practice all week.
Still, Kubiak said on the Texans' website that he was not discouraged by Johnson being out again, indicating that Johnson is "very close" to being back and playing.
