Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Aaron Kromer cried in a team meeting while telling the team that it was him who ripped quarterback Jay Cutler to NFL Network anonymously, according to the Chicago Tribune.
NFL Network reported that the Bears have buyer's remorse for Cutler's $126.7 million contract, which Kromer denied saying.
However, Kromer did admit that he expressed frustration with how Cutler is playing.
Per the Tribune, Cutler shook his head during the apology.
Kromer griped about Cutler not checking out of bad run plays.
"I said what I had to say to the players," Kromer told the Tribune.
Whether Kromer will resign or be fired remains to be seen, but this is a shocking situation.
Kromer apologized, but it didn't appear to satisfy the players.
"I'm still kind of trying to sort my way through this to be honest," one player told the Tribune. "It's one of the most (messed) up things I have ever seen."
