Cleveland Browns wide receiver and kick returner Travis Benjamin tore his anterior cruciate ligament and is done for the season, coach Rob Chudzinski announced during a press conference.
He will be placed on injured reserve, a pending transaction that will create a roster spot and a void in the Browns' return game.
He's averaging 11.7 yards per punt return and ran back a punt against teh Buffalo Bills.
Davone Bess will fill in on returns for Benjamin.
“You saw the growth as a player, as a receiver as well as the obvious that you see as a returner on the punt returns and then some on the kickoff returns as well,” Chudzinski said. “It’s a tough loss for us, but we’ll have some guys step up.”
