The Chicago Bears are picking up momentum when it comes to signing draft picks as they agreed to terms this afternoon with defensive end Corey Wootton on a four-year contract, meaning they’ve signed three picks in four days now.
That leaves just safety Major Wright (third round) and quarterback Dan LeFevour (sixth round) to have the entire five-man draft class under contract.
Wootton, represented by Chicago-based Priority Sports, is the first fourth-round pick to get a deal done. He is expected to compete for a spot in the rotation on the line this season, and general manager Jerry Angelo said he projects ideally as a left end.
The Bears already signed cornerback Joshua Moore (fifth round) and offensive tackle J’Marcus Webb (seventh round). Webb received a $60,600 signing bonus.
With veteran safety Danieal Manning signing his tender as a restricted free agent earlier today, the team now has 79 players under contract.
