Already without the services of right tackle Marc Colombo, who underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee to have some pieces of cartilage removed, the Dallas Cowboys suffered another blow.

Left guard Kyle Kosier has been injured in practice today. The Dallas Morning News reports that he will undergo an MRI on what the team believes is a sprained MCL. One league source said the rumor circulating is that Kosier suffered a torn MCL. How long that would sideline him is anyone’s best guess right now, but certainly the beginning of the season and perhaps the first month could be in jeopardy.

Montrae Holland has replaced Kosier at left guard for the time being. The line was supposed to be somewhat of a question mark for the Cowboys entering camp but the biggest question was whether or not new left tackle Doug Free could handle his post. Now, the question will be what kind of shape will this unit be in when the regular season begins?

The hope is that Colombo returns before Sept. 12. The forecast might not be as bright for Kosier.
