The New York Giants are expected to be without wide receiver Steve Smith on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys after he suffered an injured pectoral muscle in practice on Thursday afternoon.

Smith was taken for tests on Thursday, according to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News, and an MRI. The results of those tests are not known yet.

Per Vacchiano, a source said Smith does not have a “worst-case scenario,” which meaning he doesn’t have a tear that will prematurely end his season. Offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride called Smith’s injury a “huge loss,” and that makes you think the injury could sideline him for more than one week. Stay tuned.
