The injuries just keep piling up for the New York Giants.

The team learned Monday night that Terrell Thomas, arguably New York’s best cornerback, would miss the season with a torn ACL suffered in the closing minutes of the first half against the Chicago Bears.

Then, coach Tom Coughlin announced this afternoon that defensive tackle Marvin Austin, the club’s second-round draft pick from North Carolina, is likely done for the season. Austin has a torn left pectoral muscle that will likely require surgery.

The Giants have had injuries pile up for a couple weeks and now they’re turning more serious. Could be a long season if the team can’t catch some breaks quickly.
