New York Giants starting left tackle Will Beatty tore his pectoral muscle and is going to be out as long as six months, a league source confirmed.
Surgery was scheduled for Wednesday.
The injury was suffered while lifting weights Tuesday.
Beatty will need four to six months of rehabilitation time.
Beatty is expected to be replaced by first-round pick Ereck Flowers.
