The New York Giants have found a replacement for suspended defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy, promoting Dwayne Hendricks from the practice squad.
Kennedy was suspended earlier this week for four games for violating the NFL’s policy on anabolic steroids and related substances. The Giants knew Kennedy faced a likely suspension when they signed him.
Hendricks has spent parts of the last three seasons on the team’s practice squad but has never appeared in a regular-season game. So, the promotion is a reward for the former Miami product.
Kennedy’s suspension will carry through the Giants’ game with the San Francisco 49ers on Nov. 13. He will be eligible to return the next week.
