New York Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes could start training camp in July on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, per ESPNNewYork.
Holmes is recovering from a Lisfranc injury that required two surgeries. Holmes played in just four games for the Jets last year.
The PUP list is for players who are unable to pass a physical at the start of training camp. Players may be activated from training camp PUP at anytime on to the active roster. But once the regular season begins, a player who is on regular-season PUP cannot be activated for at least six weeks into the season.
