The news got worse for Jake Ballard after the New York Giants completed celebrating their victory in Super Bowl XLVI.
The tight end, who left the game with a left knee injury, was told after the game he had suffered a torn meniscus. According to Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger, that news took a turn for the worse on Tuesday when he was informed he had also suffered a torn ACL.
That is the same injury fellow tight end Travis Beckum suffered in the game, putting both players in question for the start of the 2012 season, a high price to pay in a championship game that pays many players less than what they earn during a week of the regular season.
The injuries create a need for the Giants, one that will need to be addressed in free agency or the draft.
