The New York Jets cut wide receiver David Nelson to create a roster spot for newly-acquired wide receiver Percy Harvin.
Harvin was acquired via a trade on Friday.
Nelson was a starter.
He caught one pass for 11 yards against the New England Patriots on Thursday.
For the season, he has eight catches for 65 yards.
