The New York Jets have signed former Maryland cornerback Dexter McDougle, their third-round draft pick.
McDougle missed the final nine games of his senior year with a fractured shoulder blade suffered last September.
McDougle ran the 40-yard dash in 4.43 and 4.48 seconds. He also registered a 37-inch vertical leap, a 10-foot-2 broad jump, a 4.18-second 20-yard shuttle and a 6.84-second three-cone drill.
Prior to the NFL draft, McDougle visited the Jets, New York Giants, Oakland Raiders and Detroit Lions.
Against Connecticut last September, McDougle intercepted a career-high two passes. He returned one 49 yards for a touchdown before suffering the season-ending shoulder injury.
The 5-foot-11, 195-pound McDougle had 71 tackles as a junior and three interceptions as a sophomore.
