The Detroit Lions signed former Denver Broncos kicker Matt Prater to a one-year deal.
Prater tried out Tuesday along with Arizona Cardinals kicker Jay Feely and former Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicker Connor Barth.
Prater replaces Alex Henery, who missed three field goals in a loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Prater made 25 of 26 field goals last season for the Broncos. He was cut by Denver after being suspended four games for violating the NFL subtance-abuse policy.
