The Cleveland Browns on Wednesday placed veteran wide receiver Miles Austin on injured reserve with a kidney injury.

They signed running back Shaun Draughn.

“Miles sustained a kidney injury in Buffalo and remains in the hospital," coach Mike Pettine said. “Our thoughts are with him and we wish him a speedy recovery. Miles is a guy who embodies what ‘Play like a Brown’ means and instills that in our receiving corps.”

Austin has caught 47 passes for 568 yards and two touchdowns this season.

Draughn has previous stints with the Washington Redskins, Baltimore Ravens, Chicago Bears and San Diego Chargers. He has 19 yards on 10 carries this season, 254 career rushing yards on 73 carries with two touchdowns. He has added 24 career receptions for 158 yards.
