The Minnesota state legislature went into overtime Monday, continuing to work beyond the scheduled adjournment that day.

That means work continues on a bill to create funding for a new stadium for the Minnesota Vikings. By law, the legislature must be done by May 21, meaning we’ll know by then if it passes.

"There is more that needs to be done," Gov. Mark Dayton said, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "I encouraged them to stay as long as they need to get all this resolved."

According to the report, Dayton and he Republican-led legislature have not been able to get deals done to push through bills for business tax relief, bonds and the stadium issue. So, there are more issues at play for lawmakers than just a new stadium that will ensure the Vikings stay put. The NFL and the team have lobbied heavily to get action pushed to the finish line this spring.

If the Vikings cannot get a deal done, there is no telling what happens. The NFL has made it clear that moving could be a reality.
