San Francisco 49ers outside linebacker Aldon Smith won't face misdemeanor criminal charges after being arrested in April at Los Angeles International Airport for allegedly issuing a fake bomb threat.
He is still required to attend a July 30 hearing to explain himself. He'll be given a warning about the laws against making bomb threats and told how to avoid this sort of situaiton.
The case was reviewed by prosecutors.
Smith still faces a July 25 court date for sentencing after pleading no contest to three felony gun charges.
He could also face an NFL suspension.
