Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo will not require surgery to repair the fractured left clavicle he suffered during the second quarter of Monday night’s loss to the New York Giants.
Romo underwent evaluation and testing, including a CT scan today according to a release by the organization.
The result of those tests indicate that he will need six to eight weeks to recover from the injury. The Cowboys are not going to place Romo on injured reserve at this point. Obviously, a two-month time frame to return will likely end his season. Unless the team can rally behind Jon Kitna, it’s unlikely there would be any reason for Romo to return in 2010.
