Oregon standout safety Jevon Holland announced Saturday that he is opting out of the college season to prepare for the NFL draft.
Holland, who had nine interceptions in two college seasons, is viewed as a probable first-round draft pick.
Holland thanked his family, the Oregon coaches and others for his experience during an announcement on Twitter.
“I want to thank my BROTHERS. You men are the reason I came to Oregon,” Holland said. “Everything from the long meetings, to running the stadium, to life long memories on and off the field. I wouldn’t have wanted to be beside anyone else. Love y’all boys.
“Lastly, I want to thank the fans! You all gave me the best college football experience in the country!
“With that being said, I have decided to opt-out of the 2020-2021 college football season and prepare for the 2021 NFL DRAFT!”
