PHILADELPHIA—This wasn’t the way the Kevin Kolb era in Philadelphia was supposed to start.
The Eagles trail the Green Bay Packers 13-3 at the end of the first half, but inside the box score is a whole different story.
Philadelphia managed just 49 yards of offense (42 rushing, 7 passing) on 22 plays while possessing the ball for only 11:23 in two quarters of action at Lincoln Financial Field.
New quarterback Kevin Kolb is currently 5 for 10 passing for just 24 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions. He also suffered a jaw injury that forced him out of action for a few plays.
Kolb is expected to return, although I’m not sure all of the fans here in attendance want him back in the lineup.
Meanwhile, after a slow start, Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers turned it on to finish the first half with 16 completions on 22 attempts for 129 yards. Rodgers also has a touchdown pass (to Donald Driver), interception and 12 yards rushing.
Philadelphia is just 1 for 6 on third down conversions through two quarters while Green Bay is 4 for 8.
