Lawrence Wilson, a sixth-round draft pick of the Carolina Panthers and a member of the team’s practice squad, was cited by Rowan County (N.C.) authorities for possession of marijuana.
According to the Salisbury Post, Wilson was stopped on I-85 Wednesday afternoon after he was speeding at 76 mph in a 65 mph zone. Wilson did not have his driver’s license and police smelled the odor of marijuana. Police found probably cause to search the vehicle and allegedly discovered 11 grams of marijuana.
Per the police report, Wilson began to cry. He was cited for misdemeanor possession of marijuana and speeding.
