It was a brief stint with the Patriots, lasting just four days.</p> <p>
Byham signed with them earlier this week.</p> <p>
He has previous stints with the San Francisco 49ers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.</p> <p>
Byham is a former 49ers sixth-round pick from Pitt.</p> <p>
In 29 games and 11 starts, the blocking tight end has 11 catches for 83 yards and one touchdown.</p> <p>
