The New England Patriots promoted defensive tackle Joe Vellano from the practice squad to the active roster.
They cut tight end Steve Maneri.
Vellano, 26, played at Maryland.
He has played in 21 games and two playoff games for the Patriots, starting nine games overall.
Patriots defensive lineman Chris Jones was limited in practice this week with an elbow injury. He's listed as probable.
