Former New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress will be released from state prison in Rome, N.Y., this morning, ending a 20-month stay for illegally carrying a loaded handgun into a Manhatten night club, the same gun he blew a hole in his leg with.
Matt Bowen asks the question right here – would you sign Burress, who will turn 34 before the season starts?
According to the New York Daily News, Burress will be picked up at the prison by his wife Tiffany and they will then fly via private jet from a nearby airport to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., where he has a home.
“This has been a bit of a roller coaster," Burress’ attorney Peter Frankel said. “He's ready to move to the next phase. There's good buzz building."
