Rashaan Salaam has auctioned off the ring he received after winning the Heisman Trophy.
The former Colorado standout sold the ring for $8,140 plus a 20 percent buyer’s premium at auction last week. The ring did not reach the $15,000 reserve but a buyer was found.
Salaam rushed for 2,055 yards in 1994 when he won the award. He has not sold the prized trophy he received. The ring is reportedly missing a diamond.
Salaam won rookie of the year honors with the Chicago Bears before his professional career quickly fizzled.
