Baltimore Ravens center Matt Birk won't have to play the $5,000 fine for yanking off his microphone before a game with the New York Jets after all.

Adam Caplan of Sirius/NFL Radio reports that Birk has won his appeal of the fine, as confirmed by Birk's agent, Joe Linta.

The NFL, as part of the new collective bargaining agreement, required either a center or guard from each team to wear a microphone during the game to allow access to signals and field noise for fans.
