The Baltimore Ravens, still reeling from likely losing Dennis Pitta for the season with a hip injury Saturday, have moved to fill the vacancy.
The Ravens have signed former Vikings and Patriots tight end Visanthe Shiancoe to a one-year deal, per Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun.
Shiancoe will receive the veteran minimum of $940,000 if he makes the Ravens' opening day roster. He was at Friday's practice visiting the club even before Pitta suffered his devastating injury. Shiancoe has 243 career receptions in a 10-year NFL career. He worked out for Tampa Bay earlier this week.
