Twelve teams have inquired about Peyton Manning, according to a report from ESPN.com.
While some of the teams have yet to be named, teams reported to have already made contact with the star quarterback include the Arizona Cardinals, Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks, New York Jets, Kansas City Chiefs and Washington Redskins.
The report also states that Manning would prefer to stay in the AFC and not have to compete directly with his brother, New York Giants QB Eli Manning, but is open to offers from NFC teams.
Manning has to officially clear waivers this afternoon at 4 p.m. ET before teams can negotiate with him as a free agent or even bring him in for a visit and give him a physical to see how his neck injury and arm strength are progressing.
"I have no idea who wants me, what team wants me, how this process works," Manning said Wednesday from South Florida. "I don't know if it's like college recruiting where you go take visits. I mean, this is all so new to me."
