The Washington Redskins’ trade for former Pro Bowl offensive tackle Jammal Brown will be for a conditional draft pick, according to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, a pick that presumably will be based on how much he plays this season.
Brown has reportedly arrived in Washington where he will undergo a physical before the trade can be completed. The Redskins will likely have to work out a new contract for Brown, who will also need to sign his tender as a restricted free agent with the New Orleans Saints in order for the deal to be consummated.
It’s a good move by the Redskins, who had to play with an offensive line in shambles last season. The focus of the team since Mike Shanahan came on board has been revamping the line and adding considerable depth at defensive tackle, presumably to plot a future without Albert Haynesworth.
