As far as longtime former employees who gave years of service go, let’s just say Shaun Ellis isn’t real popular right now with his former team.
Ellis spurned a one-year offer from the New York Jets to head to their bitter AFC East rival the New England Patriots. Had the Jets put a multi-year deal on the table, Ellis likely would have remained. Now, he’ll try to bolster the pass rush in New England and get to face his former teammates twice in the regular season.
“The fact that he chose them, there's no way I'm going to wish him well,” Jets coach Rex Ryan said, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. “There's no chance of that.”
That right there is why Jets writers have to have their Twitter account ready to roll any time Ryan opens his mouth.
