Miami Dolphins soon-to-be free agent running back Ronnie Brown entered Sunday’s Week 17 matchup with the New England Patriots needing just 30 rushing yards to earn a $500,000 incentive, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Brown’s contract called for the bonus if the veteran running back could amass 750 yards on the ground this season.
Rushing for 30+ yards was a feat Brown had accomplished in 11 games this season and 32 times in his last 39 outings. But after receiving just six carries for a total of 14 yards Sunday afternoon, Brown fell 16 yards shy of cashing a check worth half a million dollars.
