Quinton Coples' debut for the New York Jets drew plenty of high praise from Coach Rex Ryan, according to the Newark Star-Ledger.
As it should have.Coples was credited with five tackles, including two for losses. He also had a sack and forced fumble on play and batted down a pass on another.
Ryan labeled Coples' effort as "tremendous," and added that he saw "some real encouraging things. That's not surprising, but I was happy to see it nonetheless."
Coples ran with the second team in the Jets' base 3-4, but played a lot with the first group in the 4-3 and sub-packages.
