The Seattle Seahawks were awarded linebacker O'Brien Schofield off waivers from the Arizona Cardinals, providing another pass rusher to a defense already featuring several players that can get to the quarterback.
Schofield was cut Friday by the Cardinals.
A nine-game starter last season, Schofield recorded 36 tackles and four sacks prior to suffering a season-ending ankle injury.
The 6-foot-3, 242-pounder can play outside linebacker or operate at defensive end.
Schofield figures to be supremely motivated when he plays the Cardinals twice this season.
