The Seattle Seahawks traded wide receiver Percy Harvin to the New York Jets on Friday.

It was a roster transaction that netted the Seahawks anywhere from a second-round to a fourth-round draft pick in 2015.

It also removed a problem from their locker room with reports that Harvin was beating up teammates, including Golden Tate and Doug Baldwin over the past year.

Seahawks general manager John Schneider addressed the trade today in a statement.

"Although this was an extremely difficult decision, we are constantly evaluating our team and believe at this time, that this is in our best interest to move the team forward," Schneider said. "We thank Percy for his efforts that contributed to a Super Bowl XLVIII victory and wish him well."
