Former NFL defensive tackle Sean Gilbert reached out to agents in an attempt to clarify his claims that the NFL colluded against the players.
Here is his letter to player agents:
Dear Agents,
I have received numerous requests for clarification regarding the collusion case presently pending by the NFLPA and my plan to terminate the Collective Bargaining Agreement through collusion.
The NFLPA collusion case is about the 2010 Uncapped Year. The NFLPA is seeking monetary damages.
My case is based on an entirely different set of facts. I will be seeking two forms of relief.
1. Termination of the CBA.
AND
2. Monetary damages. Unfortunately, DeMaurice Smith has limited the potential amount of monetary damages allowed under Article 3, Section 3 of the CBA.
To date, the CBA negotiated by DeMaurice Smith has shifted approximately $2.5 Billion from the players to the owners over the first four years. Based on recent discussions with agents, lawyers and financial advisors, we project approximately $10 Billion will shift from the players to the owners over the 10-year duration of the CBA.
