Veteran safety Sherrod Martin re-signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars today, according to a source.

Martin, 28, is a former Carolina Panthers second-round draft pick from Troy. He was selected 59th overall in the 2009 NFL draft.

In four seasons with the Panthers, the 6-foot-1, 200-pounder recorded 199 career tackles, seven interceptions, 20 pass deflections and one forced fumble.

He was an All-Sunbelt Conference selection at Troy where the Georgia native recorded 292 career tackles, nine forced fumbles and nine interceptions.
