Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Aqib Talib has been indicted by a Dallas County, Texas, grand jury on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Talib allegedly fired shots at his sister’s boyfriend during a domestic dispute gone bad. His mother Okolo is also accused of firing shots at the boyfriend.
Talib is free on $25,000 bond and he has maintained his innocence. The second-degree felony charge could bring a prison sentence of up to 20 years.
The talented performer has a history of off-field issues and there has been speculation the Bucs will cut ties with him when the NFL’s lockout is ended.
