Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones continues to land big events for his new stadium.
After putting just over 50,000 fans in the seats for the March 13 Manny Pacquiao-Joshua Clottey title fight, reports have surfaced that Cowboys Stadium will host the September 4 college football showdown between TCU and Oregon State, according to ESPN.com.
Both teams will open their season in Dallas at 7:45pm eastern on ESPN.
The announcement once again shows that Jones is serious about putting his spectacular $1.2 billion facility on display for the world to see. In addition to the TCU-Oregon State game and Pacquiao-Clottey fight, Cowboys Stadium hosted the 2010 NBA All-Star game, which drew and astounding attendance of 108,713.
The showdown between the Horned Frogs and Beavers will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
TCU is coming off an outstanding 12-1 season that ended with a close loss to undefeated Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl. Oregon State went 8-5 in 2009 with a season-ending 44-20 loss to BYU in the MAACO Bowl in Las Vegas.
