The Houston Texans cut safety D.J. Swearinger, who wrote on Instagram today that he's no longer with the team.
Swearinger wrote: "One heck of an opportunity #texannation I appreciate everything and the opportunity and memories!! It’s time for a new chapter and the defining moment of my career!! So long #HOUSTONTEXANS.”
Entering his third NFL season, Swearinger had been linked to trade discussions, but no deal was struck.
The former second-round pick from South Carolina had 73 tackles, three forced fumbles and two interceptions last season.
