The Texans announced that they've placed running back Ben Tate on the season-ending injured reserve list on Wednesday.
Tate has been battling injured ribs, which is what he's listed with on the IR designation. He broke four ribs in a Week 8 game against Kansas City but has played through the pain since. He also has a cracked fifth rib.
Tate will end the season with 771 rushing yards and four touchdowns. With he and Arian Foster having high expectations entering the season, both will end a disappointing 2013 season with Houston shelved on the IR.
