One of the best things about college football is the passion exuded from everyone involved, from the players and the coaches to the fans and alumni.

But sometimes having so much passion makes you say the darndest things.

Jurrell CaseyICONUSC DT Jurrell Casey needs to see for himself just how good Oregon is offensively.

Take USC’s Jurrell Casey, for instance. Despite the fact that the Trojans' opponent Saturday night, Oregon, leads the nation in a plethora of offensive categories, the defensive tackle isn’t all that impressed. The 6-1, 305-pound junior told ESPNLosAngeles.com that he was tired of hearing how good the Ducks are this season.

“They have a good running back and a good quarterback. Other than that, they’re really not that good,” Casey said.

Keep in mind that the Ducks lead the NCAA in total offense and scoring offense, averaging 569.1 yards and 55 points per game. Meanwhile, the Trojans’ defense, despite coming off its most impressive performance of the season against Pac-10 rival Cal, has struggled much of 2010.

“It gets kind of annoying to keep hearing about it, but let them do the talking and we’ll just go out there and show that we can stop them,” he said.

We’ll see if Casey and his teammates have the goods to do so when they welcome the Ducks into the Coliseum Saturday evening.
