From the files of the unexplainable: Michael Vick is hosting a Super Bowl party this weekend in Dallas.

Billed as Dallas Dynasty 2011, the “premiere A-list high society event of the Super Bowl 2011,” the bash starts at 9 p.m. Friday, according to TMZ.com.

Yes, the last time Vick hosted a party, someone was shot outside the Virginia Beach, Va., nightclub. That someone just happened to be a co-defendant in Vick’s federal dogfighting case. Vick has been working hard to remake his image, or so he says, so it’s difficult to comprehend why he’d want to host a party at the Super Bowl after his impressive Pro Bowl season. The Eagles are expected to try to sign him to a contract extension. Why party and risk blowing it all?

But as the report indicates, the joint will be crawling with security. Vick will bring his own security team. The NFL is reportedly providing a security group. The Deux Lounge is providing extra security and the owner of the property has hired off-duty SWAT Team members.

Is this really what Vick wants to be known for this week? Throwing a party? He can only hope nothing goes awry.
