Now that the Minnesota Vikings have finished their Midwest tour with a loss to the New York Giants in a game at Ford Field in Detroit, they can get down to the business of determining where they are going to play the Chicago Bears.

The Vikings are set to host the Bears on Monday night, and it’s expected that they will announce today where the game will be played with the top two choices being the Metrodome and TCF Bank Stadium at the University of Minnesota.

A decision on whether or not the Metrodome roof can be repaired in time will likely be made late this afternoon, according to a report in the Chicago Tribune. Roy Terwilliger said that representatives from the manufacturer of the roof, Birdair Inc., assessed damage briefly on Monday night and will get to work today.

Three roof panels ripped apart, and it would have been an easier repair had the roof just collapsed. There is no damage to the playing field or the seating bowl, but obviously a lot of work would need to be completed in a matter of days to make the structure safe and useable. Officials at the University of Minnesota have said they need to know today whether or not their stadium will be needed because they are going to require several days to complete snow removal.
