The San Francisco 49ers and holdout offensive guard Alex Boone remain in a holding pattern.
There's no end in sight to the contract dispute.
And the 49ers don't want to trade him, according to Comcast Sportsnet Bay Area.
The 49ers are seeing a first-round or second-round pick for Boone, which won't happen.
So, the standoff continues involving Boone, who's due a $2 million base salary this year and could be fined about $1 million for missing a month of training camp with daily fines of $30,000.
Joe Looney is starting in place of Boone.
