The San Francisco 49ers kicked the tires on a player they should be relatively familiar with, bringing in Donnie Avery for a workout.
Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee reports the Niners took a look at the first wide receiver to be selected in the 2008 draft.
Avery was a part of the final cuts by the Niners’ NFC West rival St. Louis Rams. He missed last season after suffering a torn ACL in preseason. San Francisco has five receivers on its 53-man roster right now.
