Cardinals make move for a fullback

The Arizona Cardinals lost fullback Nehemiah Broughton for the season to a torn ACL on Saturday night in Chicago.

Two days later, they’ve made a move to fill his role as the Cardinals traded rookie cornerback Jorrick Calvin to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for fullback Charles Scott. Both were sixth-round draft picks this season.

Whether or not Calvin and Scott will have real opportunities to make the 53-man roster of their new teams remains to be seen. They’ll certainly be candidates for the practice squad if they don’t.

The Cardinals also announced that they have signed wide receiver Isaiah Williams, tight end Dominique Byrd, center David Moosman and offensive tackle Casey Knips.
