Add Ahman Green to the list of over-the-hill running backs that want back in the game.
Green, who rushed for the majority of his 9,205 yards as a member of the Green Bay Packers, says he is hoping to get back in the league and he’s willing to do anything, including play special teams.
“I've got at least five years left in me to play football,” Green told FOXSportsWisconsin.
He has not played in two years, since he was a member of the Packers in the playoffs following the 2009 season.
“I wish I could still be playing,” Green said.
He dabbled in the United Football League in 2010 and played in the Canadian Football League last year.
“I know that I could help the team,” Green said. “I'd be happy to play along with Aaron (Rodgers) a few more years and help those guys win another Super Bowl. I would love to be around.”
Reality is it is a young man’s game, especially at running back. We find it unlikely Green’s phone will ring.
