Why the Cowboys will cover

Dak Prescott has defeated the Giants in each of his last nine meetings with the Cowboys’ division rival from the city that never sleeps. Each of the last three of those victories came by at least eight points. Dallas also looks like a Super Bowl team on both sides of the ball, while the Giants may have been a one-season wonder in 2022.

Why the Giants will cover

A field goal and a hook is a lot to give a playoff team at home, especially in a division like the NFC East. Tyron Smith is also dealing with another injury for Dallas, while guard Tyler Smith is likely out. That could be a problem on the road against a hungry and familiar opponent.

I still don’t believe in the Giants, even at quarterback and running back despite all the money the team threw at Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley. And Prescott has indeed owned that team. If it were up to me and I had the choice, I’d buy down to Dallas at -3 and enjoy. That said, nothing’s ever certain in the NFC East, especially in Week 1.
