Titans vs Broncos MNF Pick

Tennessee looks to feed off their playoff success as they visit the Denver Broncos on Monday night. The Titans dominated the line of scrimmage and ran the ball well in their three playoff games last season and I expect them to try and do just that tonight. If they succeed, that bodes well for my UNDER 41 play and dovetails nicely with Denver’s recent history of playing UNDER in conference play (16-4 past 20 vs AFC teams).

Why the Titans will cover the spread

Simple, Derrick Henry. This season is going to come down to whether Henry can be his 2019 self. It will be a tough task as Denver owned the 10th best rushing defense last season. Expect a lot of running early, so they can parlay that into their play action passing game.

On defense, the Titans will have to deal with second-year QB Drew Lock, who is making just his 6th career start. The Titans will have to get pressure from the start and try to get him on his heels. Jadeveon Clowney will have a big say in that and he is a guy who can take over games.

Tennessee always seems to cover on MNF, they are 7-1 ATS in their eight tries. The face a Broncos team that enjoys no such history as their 2-11-1 ATS in their last 14 games played on a Monday indicates.

Why the Broncos cover the spread

Getting after Ryan Tannehill. Their defense will be key to keeping this game within three points and it will start on the Defensive Line. Winning the battle at the line of scrimmage should be their main focus, and it will be tough without injured Von Miller.

On offense, they will look a little different than last year. Melvin Gordon should be the focal point of the offense after signing a big deal this off-season. Rookie WR Jerry Jeudy should have a big role on offense as well across from Courtland Sutton. Denver boasts a solid arsenal of weapons for Lock to use.

Tennessee Titans vs Denver Broncos Pick

I expect a very low-scoring, gritty game from these two teams. The total is set at 41 and I plan to hammer the UNDER. Denver has historically played low-scoring UNDERs in conference action and they are 16-4 favoring the UNDER in 20 recent games vs AFC foes.

When it comes to the spread pick, I like Denver at +3. Denver has the potential on defense to slow down Derrick Henry and force Ryan Tannehill to beat them through the air. Denver has won six in a row hosting the Titans and enjoy a 5-1 ATS run in those six games. The under and Denver +3 are my picks for this Monday Night Football matchup.
